Vegetable Protein - Vegetarian Rissoles

While it's still controversial which one is better, most recent study shows one definite advantage of vegetable protein over meat protein is that plant protein can help lower blood pressure. Those who consume a lot of vegetable protein have lower blood pressure.
Researchers at Imperial College London did a survey on nearly 4700 people from the UK, the US, Japan and China. They found that the more vegetable protein the subjects said they had, the lower their blood pressure. The report published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine suggested vegetarians tend to be lighter than non-vegetarians, and that the amino acids and magnesium found in plant protein may play roles in lowering blood pressure.
Since the study shows plant protein has some benefits that meat protein lacks, it is recommended we add some amounts of vegetable protein in our diet for better health. Good sources of vegetable protein include whole grains such as corn, wheat, oats, milo, barley, soy products such as tofu, soy milk, nuts and seeds like peas, chickpeas, beans, peanuts, almonds, pipe nuts etc. A well balanced diet including certain amounts of plant protein is definitely better than a diet that gets dietary protein from meat only.
So just to get you off to a great start with some vegetable protein here is a recipe I used for Christmas Day.

Ingredients (makes 16 small or 8 large)
200g Dried Chickpeas
2 large Cloves of Garlic crushed (or 1Tsp minced garlic)
1 Large Carrot
1 Red Onion
1 60cm Stick of Celery
1 Tsp Ground Coriander
1 Tsp Ground Cumin
50ml Skim milk
1/2 Cup Dried Breadcrumbs
1/3 Cup Chopped Fresh Parsley
1/3 Cup Chopped Fresh Mint
1/3 Cup Chopped Fresh Basil
1 Egg
Salt and Pepper to Taste

Directions:
  1. Soak chickpeas overnight or till nearly twice the size. Drain.
  2. Place the rinsed & drained chickpeas into a pot of cold water - bring to boil - simmer till cooked but not mushy. Drain - cool.
  3. In a blender add the roughly chopped ingredients - carrot, onion, celery, garlic.
  4. Quickly pulse about 3-5 times - till resembles large crushed nuts.
  5. Add chickpeas, fresh & dried herbs, milk and pulse again till combined - now looking like crushed peanuts consistency.
  6. Pour into a bowl and add the egg, breadcrumbs , salt and pepper if you like and massage till well mixed.
  7. Form into rissoles or large patties if you prefer. NOTE: you may need to add a little water to help with forming the rissoles/patties.
  8. Place on wax cooking paper on a tray. Cool in fridge till ready to bake or a minimum of 1 hour.
  9. Bake in a preheated 200 Degree Celsius oven - till golden & slightly browned.
Serve with Salad and Sweet Chilli dipping sauce or other sauce you prefer.

Have You Been Looking For Vegetarian Recipes With A Difference?

If you have been looking for vegetarian recipes with a difference there are some links below that you may enjoy.

Whether you are a seasoned chef or someone who has never put together an edible meal, consider expanding your knowledge of cooking by adding vegetarian recipes. Chefs of great restaurants and moms of hungry families will enjoy having more meals to cook, and the customers and children who eat the food will be happy as well.

Exploring vegetarian recipes is great simply to spice up the kitchen with something new. No cook likes to get bored by preparing the same meals over and over. It is always fun to try new ingredients or methods of making the foods you love and it can be just as fun to experiment with vegetarian recipes you have never tried before.

Great vegetarian recipes can be found in many locations. Search online, in cookbooks, or at local health food stores for ideas. If you have friends that have been cooking great dishes try swapping vegetarian recipes with them. Sometimes restaurants will even share vegetarian recipes with their customers for little or no charge.

Stopping into a local health food store is a great way to obtain all of the ingredients and spices you will need to begin cooking vegetarian recipes to perfection. Workers at these stores are often knowledgable resources that you can utilize and learn from.

Incorporating vegetarian recipes into any diet will bring variety and give healthy eating options. Many studies suggest that switching at least some of your weekly diet to vegetarian recipes can be beneficial to your health. Let your taste-buds enjoy new things that are good for your body. Vegetarian recipes will often include many of the vitamins, minerals, and sources of nutrition that every body needs. Instead of meat, vegetarian recipes are filled with healthy protein substitutes so that you do not miss out on things you need.

Take a look at your health and at the foods you've been eating. Including a few vegetarian recipes into your diet can quickly improve how you feel and can be part of an overall health plan that will improve your life. Since few things are as important as leading a healthy life, take your time in researching new ways to eat better. Vegetarian recipes are just one of many things that you can consider. And contrary to popular belief, vegetarian recipes are full of the taste and enjoyment of many other foods you eat. The biggest difference is that they are much better for you.

I was looking around the Internet and stumbled onto these sites which have a heap of vegetarian recipes with a difference.

My name is Urzay G - I'm an Internet Marketer/Business Owner - who enjoys learning as much as I can within eCommerce and the Internet. Where possible - I enjoy sharing what I learn with others by guiding them - giving them tips with their eCommerce Ventures. I also enjoy serving as many Fresh Roasted Coffee varieties as I can - and - drinking them myself. Taking photos is also something I'm interested in.

need to cut your workout time, cut the time you spend at the gym,

Vegan - Ovo Or Lacto Vegetarians

Why would you want to choose the Vegetarian Way?

I'll tell you why, because it is the much healthier option. We were not made to eat meat. If you go back to the dawn of time you will find that man - ADAM - had fruit for food and an apple at that. I wouldn't be surprised if this is why we have that old saying "An Apple A Day, Keeps The Doctor Away". This in itself says a lot. Think about it for a minute - if we were meant to have meat it would have the first thing ADAM & EVE were to eat not fruit.

All in all going back to years of humans having nothing to eat but plant food such as berries and root vegetables we have some how reached a point that humanity believes that they must eat meat in order to survive. My mother for example tells me that we should eat meat - but when she defines meat she is talking red meat - Lamb - Beef - Veal. Chicken or fish just won't cut it for her. She says that she gets the shakes without the red meat.

I seriously believe that people get this way because of years upon years of living this diet, and their bodies become so used to it so when they do get this way because they've missed a day or two of red meat, of course their bodies are feeling it. It is the same as anything - it is what your body becomes accustomed to.

I decided on becoming a part time Vegetarian a few years back. At that point in my life I had not even heard of the word "Vegan". I had not idea what true vegetarianism was let alone what all the other types were. I thought you just don't eat meat and that was that. It took some time, but eventually my body became so used to this way of eating, that when I ate something on the rare occasion, such as meat, my body would do all sorts of horrible things. So it has come to reality that if continually followed this way of eating of the time my body thanked me and I felt a million bucks.

There is however, a lot more to it than that. There are several types of Vegetarians-
Lacto Vegetarians - no animal products except for milk - cheese - yogurt etc

Vegan - To me these guys are the real vegetarians - they eat nothing that is derived from animal what so ever - no cheese no eggs no milk not even honey as this comes from a living creature i guess that is the logic in it.

There is also -

Ovo-Vegetarian- eat nothing that comes from animal except for eggs - no dairy - that is milk, yogurt etc

Vegans vs. other vegetarians.

What ever the case you will find that in the long run the ones who eat less red meat or animal products will feel and look a lot better as they grow old as opposed to their carnivore counterparts.

I don't know about you, but I sure would like to grow old slowly as apposed to get old fast, that's for sure.

Jacquie M Talks about Vegetarianism and the characteristics of the following - Lacto Vegetarian -Ovo Vegetarian - OR The Real Vegetarian - "The Vegan".

Goin All Veggies - Nothing Like A Vegetarian Diet PART 2

Goin All Veggies - Nothing Like A Vegetarian Diet is now back to finish the story from PART 1

One of the best ways to take care of your nutritional needs is through a well-planned vegetarian diet. If you change to a Vegetarian Diet then it will consist of mostly fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, seeds and nuts. Since meat is not a part of a vegetarian diet hence, they will contain less of cholesterol and fat and will be high on fibers.

There are four main categories of vegetarians and they are:

i. Flexitarians: These people are also known as semi-vegetarians and they follow a plant-based diet normally and sometimes consume smaller quantities of poultry, meat, and fish.
ii. Vegans: Vegans are pure vegetarian who will consume only plant-based foods. They will not consume any animal-derived food like eggs, cheese, meat, milk, and fish.
iii. Lacto-Ovo vegetarians: This comprises of people who consume milk, eggs, and any milk products like yogurt and cheese apart from plant-based foods. Lacto-Ovo vegetarians don’t consume fish and red meat.
iv. Lacto-vegetarians: Lacto-vegetarians consume only milk and milk based products apart from plant-based foods. They don’t consume fish, eggs, meat, and other poultry products.

A healthy diet is generally restrictive in nature and most often than not it will require you to avoid meat, fish and poultry products, which are high in fat and low on nutrients. Hence, a healthy diet includes mostly fibrous food, which is in the form of fresh vegetables and fruits. Some of the important nutrients available through non-meat sources include:

i. Protein: The human body requires a lot of protein for maintain healthy bones, skin, muscles and other organs. Some of the food products that are high in proteins include legumes, soy products, lentils, seeds, nuts, and whole grains.
ii. Vitamin B-12: The human body requires vitamin B-12 for producing red blood cells and to prevent anemia. Vitamin B-12 is found in some of the enriched cereals, or fortified soy products.
iii. Calcium: Calcium is required mostly for strengthening the bones and to make the teeth stronger. You can find calcium in most of the green vegetables like turnip, spinach, collard greens, broccoli, and kale.
iv. Iron: Iron is a crucial nutrient that is required for red blood cells. You can consume iron by eating peas, dry beans, lentils, whole-grain products, fruits like bananas, dark leafy green vegetables, enriched cereals, and even dry fruit. You can also consume foods, which are rich in vitamin C like citrus fruits, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli and cabbage.
v. Zinc: This is an important nutrient that builds enzymes in the human body for enhancing the process of cell division and also helps in the formation of proteins. Some of the best food sources for zinc include soy products, whole grains, nuts and wheat germ.

Goin All Veggies - Nothing Like a Vegetarian Diet PART 1

There is Nothing Like a Vegetarian Diet so just go here now to get a copy of Jacquie's new eBook Goin All Veggies so you can see how easy it is to become a vegetarian.

These days you will find many people looking for options for making their diet rich in nutrients. One of the important driving forces behind a completely healthy diet is the food pyramid. The food pyramid is like a tool that will ensure that you have a healthy diet. There are different ways of illustrating a healthy diet plan but the most accepted way is in the shape of the pyramid. Food pyramids have been used by dietitians and even doctors for outlining different food groups as well as food choices, which will lay the foundation for a healthy intake of food if taken in right proportion.

The food pyramid

The food pyramid is in a triangular shape that highlights what all you need to focus on when you are selecting your food. At the base of the pyramid is the food that you need to take in bigger amounts and the food at the top of the pyramid should be consumed in lesser quantities. Today there are several types of food pyramids available and this might confuse you as you might not know which ones to choose. But the good thing is that the basic principles of different food pyramids are same and focus on the following:

1. Eat as much fruits as possible with fresh vegetables and whole grains
2. Reduce the intake of trans fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol as much as possible
3. Limit the intake of salt and sweets
4. Avoid alcohol or drink in moderation
5. Control the total number of calories consumed by you on a daily basis
6. Physical activity is a must

Foods mentioned in a food pyramid are always defined under different categories like meat, poultry and dairy products. This is meant to help you in making the right food choice. You have to remember that there is no single food that can replace everything else but vegetable definitely provide the maximum nutrients that is required by the human body.

Hereditary Genes NO not those blue ones your brother gave you, Under Nourished people, Hormonal Disorders, Various Medications, and Stress are solely to refer to a few reasons which could cause lessening and/or hair loss.

One of the most general reasons that men and a number of women, are consulting Dermatologists these days, is the extensive falling out of their hair.

You'll discover that there is no real logic to panic otherwise be anxious the majority of the while. Realistically, you must merely remain concerned if you lose other than 100 strands of hair for every day.

So why do several of us lose our hair?

There are various factors to blame on behalf of our hair loss.

1. Systemic illnesses which cause hairlessness are for instance, lupus erythematosus, plus hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. The therapy dealt in hair loss in theses cases is stringently connected with the therapy of the principal illness.

2. Falling out of hair happens in favor of various toxic reasons, primarily if a body gets intoxicated with arsenic (As), thallium (Tl) or mercury ((Hg). In instance of talasemia present are a number of characteristic changes in the hair composition which can be observed under the microscope. Alopecia development appears roughly two weeks after inducing the toxin, and eventually hair loss is almost complete. However, hair ordinarily grows again within following six to eight weeks. In cases of body intoxication, initially a patient is given an antidote to save his/her life.

3. Exceeding hair loss all through and following catching diseases is caused primarily by prominent body warmth and, in addition, a number of toxic factors and nourishment deficiency, which could appear a disease is rising. Exceeding hair loss would ordinarily appear among 2 and 4 month following the fever is no longer with you. Hair grows back on its own concurrence. At the same time as body reinforcement, a number of vitamins and minerals are additionally given to patients. Folks who suffer from syphilis too, deal with hair loss, which could come to pass extensive or else somewhat important in its character. Of course, this type of disease needs particular kind of remedy which helps in growing hair again.

4. The mechanical goal in support of losing one's hair is, for instance, the hairdo, like: A pony tail or else a bob. Such hairstyles produce the hair to be hard-pressed too much. However, if you delay for too long, your hair loss could continue for the reason that your "hair follicles have left the building" so to speak.

5. Other baldheadedness can be caused by taking certain drugs, for example, cytostatics and immunosuppressants which are used in not simply treating chronic cancer cases, but as well in dermatology in dealing with such illnesses such as: Trying cases of psoriasis, systemic collagenosis or pemphigus. Personal Experience With Weight Training

Hey Guys Today I'd like to talk some more about Turbulence Training and what it's been like for me.

You see prior to Turbulence Training, I was also told that in order to get lean, I had to do at least 1 hour weight training x 3 Times per week followed by at least a further 1 hour-plus of boring old cardio. I believed this as many of us do, so I followed their direction and trained like nothin' else. After 3 months of this there was little change to my body.

I first started training with weights in the late eighties, doing so many reps and sets for lower body one day followed by so many reps and sets for upper body the next also each and every day that I trained, I did 1000 ab reps of assorted exercises, yep that's right 1000. My abs were Abs of Flab still even after all that not one bit of toned tummy at all. I trained hard 6 of 7 days because I thought I wanted to be a body builder, a phase I was going through back then LOL. When there was bugger all results I stopped going hard at it, oh must have been somewhere between 3-6 months.

I then only trained for social and a bit of exercise. Another big no no. Look, if you want to have the body of your dreams - start your routine - finish the job - then go home. Easy Peasy!

As the years went by I looked at this, that and any other product, to lose weight with ease, you know cellulite tablets and fad diets. Yeh yeh, I know you all try them too. I'm not alone out there haaa haa am I?

During my research for an online personal trainer, that didn't cost weeks of wages and then some - after spending hundreds of dollars on Ebooks and programs - I was fortunate to stumble upon Turbulence Training Trial Offer. For only $4.95, all I have to lose was my fat (yep cliche, I know) Even so, I still had these things coming to mind - "What kind of product is this? How can you lose fat and tone in less than an hour only 3 times a week? This is too cheap to be any good!" AND oh yeh, the best one "This is too easy, it must be crap". Man was I mistaken. It looks easy, but man alive looks can definitely be deceiving.

Once buying my trial I did more research on the program, I found there to be a great deal of support within a member's forum as well as Craig Ballantyne himself. You make heaps of friends in the forum who support you and help you to be accountable for your efforts as much as you're there for others too. A great society of fat losers.

I started TT around this time last year. I had always followed the dreaded gym instructors' point of views, while trying to lose fat, especially around the tummy area, hence the last article I posted - "Letter From Your Belly Fat", written by Craig Ballantyne.

I can go on for ages but I won't bore you any longer with my story.

I want to give you this great sample video from Craig Ballantyne which explains interval training instead of doing that long slow boring cardio. Intervals are the quickest and one of the best ways to burn calories not only during but for hours to come. Hey they're even fun to do - once you learn the different styles and techniques you can use.

Here you go - Take a look at this video - let me know what you guys think.

A Letter from Your Belly Fat

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
www.TurbulenceTraining.com
Dear Friend,

This is a letter from your ol' pal, belly fat. We had a great run this summer, didn't we? Lots of good times, great food, and plain ol' sitting around eating too much.

Well, I'm thinking about sticking around another year if you don't mind. But you might need to get a bigger pair of pants, as I was thinking about expanding my place down here.

So do me a favor, avoid that interval training you were thinking of doing. The last time you did that stuff, I nearly had to look for a new place to live. I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West in the land of Oz. Did you hear me yelling, "Help me, I'm melting!"?

Instead, stick to that slow cardio stuff. Sure I get a little sweaty, and the ol' brain up there thinks it's doing "a real fat burning workout", but it's never enough to melt me outta here.

Another thing, keep listening to those experts who say strength training doesn't burn body fat. Since research shows they're wrong, if you added strength training to your program, you'd practically need to throw me a going away party!

After each one of those superset workouts you tried last January it felt like someone lit a match under our collective butt. I was burning up down here!

But boy oh boy, I sure was glad you gave that up and went back to just lifting utensils and not dumbells. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to celebrate another summer together this year.

Sometimes I wonder, what did you ever do in college without me, your trusted belly fat? Back then, you were probably one of those people that couldn't wait to get to the beach to show off your body, not like these days.

Nope, stay in the shade and keep the cover-up clothes on, that's the way to go now. Besides, its a lot closer to the cold beer and the BBQ when you're sitting in the shade avoiding all the fun down on the beach.

Well, it sure was good catching up with you. I'm sure we'll be in touch more often, as long as you stay away from that Turbulence Training workout routine.

Brings a tear to my eye whenever I even think about that workout program and all the belly fat it's burned. Heck, it's fried more belly fat than a frying pan!

So again, if you want to keep your dear old belly around for another year and another summer, don't use TurbulenceTraining - otherwise, its all over pal, and you'll never see me again.

Belly Fat says, "Don't use this"
www.TurbulenceTraining.com
Your friend and spare tire,

Belly Fat

PS - Seriously, don't go near that Turbulence Training program unless you want to see me, Thunder Thighs, Manboobs, Jigg Lee Arm Fat, and Luv Handles pack our bags and hit the highway.

It will be a sad farewell, and you'd be stuck with ripped abs, gorgeous glutes, and toned arms, and you know how much attention those guys get from the opposite sex. Who needs it, I say.

Sensai Skincare Saho

The initial SESAI skincare method is based on the hypothesis of twice sanitisation, twice moisturising and twice application. This theory has its roots in the Japanese tea ceremony where in order to craft a genuinely great bowl of tea, there exosts an elaborate setting of rules, called Saho. These rules steer one's events from being to end-from the groundwork and correctness in the tea room to admiring the utensils. SENSAI, in its pursuit of beautiful skin employs the same type of gentle and thoughtful method. This is two times sanitisation, dual moisturising and two times application. Not merely does this method make use of the newest technologyto maximise the skin's self-protective and regenerative powers, but it additionally works on an inner level. Parallel to the Saho of Japanese tea ceremony, the SENSAI course calms the spirit at the same occasion it sharpens the senses.

Twice Cleansing:
In order to completely purify the skin of all makeup and impurities, the skin is cleansed twice:

Energy Drink Phenomenon

Can Energy Drinks Actually Improve Your Strength, Endurance, and Energy Levels... Or is it All in Your Mind?

Plus an important lesson on how to help your mind control your exercise and diet results

Check out this article by Mike Geary, Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Specialist

You may have noticed from a lot of my ezine issues that I speak a lot about the power of your mind and how this controls the results you get in your body.

This is yet another example of the power of the placebo effect, and probably the only reason anybody gets any results whatsoever from typical supplements (I'm talking more about bogus fat burner supplements rather than legitimate whole food supplements).

I recently read about an interesting study regarding Energy Drinks and whether they actually give any results (sorry, I don't have the exact citation or the exact numbers involved), but here was the general details of the study...

The researchers split the group into 2 large groups of people. The first group they gave one of these typical "energy drinks" that you see everywhere (which I've mentioned before are a complete waste).

Now here's the important part... the researchers specifically told this 1st group of people that the energy drink they were receiving would increase their strength and endurance levels and increase their energy output.

The 2nd group received the exact same "energy drink" but was not told what the drink was, so nothing was said about it improving anything. For all these people knew, they were just being given a drink because they were thirsty. They were not told that this drink was an "energy drink".

The very interesting results:

The 1st group, which was told that the energy drink would improve their strength and endurance, actually DID increase their strength outputs and endurance tests.

However, the 2nd group, which received the EXACT SAME "energy drink" was NOT TOLD that it would help anything, and therefore, they showed no measurable signs of improvement on any of the tests!

Wow... yet another powerful example of how it's ALL IN YOUR MIND!
Energy drinks don't really help with anything, but if you strongly believe in your mind that something you are doing will improve your results, it really can help your results. This is the placebo effect at its best!

One way that this phenomenon can be applied to your nutrition and workouts:

1. When you're performing certain exercises, you need to really strongly BELIEVE IN YOUR MIND that those exercises are transforming your body... in return, that strong belief will improve your results in the gym MUCH more than just mindlessly going through the exercises.

2. When you are eating healthy food, you need to really strongly believe and think about how much that food is making you leaner, stronger, and giving you more energy. If you believe strongly how much that food is helping you, it WILL help you much more than if you didn't think about what you were eating positively.

This is very powerful stuff! Your brain CAN really control your fitness results or lack of results.
